The first step to our coursework was to discuss as a group the themes and focus we wanted for our 'film'. We wanted to go for another serious genre, perhaps a horror or a thriller.
A big influence at this stage was Charlie Brooker's 'Black Mirror' as it was new to TV, innovative, original, effective and thought-provoking. This was something we found entertaining and powerful therefore something great to take inspiration from.
We therefore decided to look into focusing on the effects of technology, government conspiracy and obsession.
We thought of films that we liked and ones that used interesting techniques etc. so that we could incorporate and take influence for own on film.
After developing these ideas and thinking about real media products, we each chose films, TV show and research areas to study in order to expand on the points we've got and combine our findings to create our own plot.
