The Truman Show Poster Deconstruction

·         The Truman show poster.

  •       The poster looks as though it’s advertising for a TV programme, however the tag line is ‘on the air, unaware’ which indicates what the film is about that although it’s a programme, ‘Truman’ is unaware. It is a TV programme within a film.
  •       The title is at the bottom of the screen which doesn’t follow the typical conventions of a film poster as it is not in the eye line.
  •       The picture of him quietly sleeping is again enhancing that he is blissfully oblivious to what is actually happening, and that people are looking at him.
  •       The fact it is a big screen with the words ‘live’ makes it seem even more real and the 'Day 10,909' showing how long this has been on air.
